This is a key area of activity for Ansamed from the supply of extruded components for use in PTCA catheters to finshed medical devicle used in cardiology procedures. We supply balloon tubing, outer members and guidewire tubing (2 and 3 layer) to the best tolerances in the industry. Ansamed cooperate with medical device manufacturers specialising in developing balloons for cardiology applications by refining tubing mechanical properties to provide optimal balloon blowing processing and end use performance.

Extruded tubing can be produced to exacting dimensions as used for application such as Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) leads. We also produce tubing used in commercially available heart pumps.

Ansamed produce an Angiography Catheter (Maxitorque Plus), a high torque braided shaft based system which is sold to hospitals under the Ansamed brand. This product family is also sold on an OEM basis in bulk non-sterile and sterile formats to finished device producers.

We have also developed a thin wall guiding catheter technology platform which is used to develop and customise guide catheters for specific customer applications (for example - use in coronary angioplasty, braided delivery systems for percutaneous heart valve replacement procedures).
