ANSAmed launching new technologies at Euro PCR
At the EuroPCR conference this year in Barcelona, May 22nd – 25th, Ansamed will be launching three new technologies which will provide our customers with further solutions to their requirements in the medical device field.
These new technologies consist of tapered extrusion technology, nanobore tubing extrusion and braided shaft extrusions. These technologies will compliment the already diverse range of extrusion services offered by Ansamed to the medical device industry including single lumen, multi-layer tubing, multi lumen tubing. In addition Ansamed also offer a significant range of value add services consisting of assembly. pad printing, tipping, bonding and many more.

Tapered extrusion allows for an extruded shaft to have different ID/OD dimension at one end compared to the other. This has the benefit of potentially removing the need to previously bond two shafts together or customising the performance of the shaft by altering the dimensions of the shaft

Nanobore technology is becoming increasingly more prevalent in the medical device arena as devices reduce in size to minimise trauma to patients or go to places previously not explored. As a response to this need Ansamed are launching out nanobore tubing extrusion technology offering extrusion capability of ID as low as 0.2 mm and wall thickness as low as 0.04 mm

Braided shafts offer greater rigidity, torquability and kink resistance over similar sized non braided shafts. Braiding consists of the inclusion of a wire mesh (flat or round wire) into the wall of the tubing during the extrusion process. By changing several factors during the braiding process, the characteristics of the tube can be altered to fit performance requirements.

I would like to invite you to come and visit us at stand H01 during the PCR show to discuss these and other technologies further and how they may meet your needs.
