Tapered Bump
Tapered tubing has a gradual taper / reduction in outer and inner diameter from one end of the tube to the other. More complex than typical extrusion operations, the production of taper tubing requires sophisticated control on the tube pulling/cutting station to achieve tapered tubing dimensions.
Bump tubing is similar to tapered tubing but has a bump (area of increased outer diameter) along the length of the tube.
The dimensions that can be achieved using this technology are very much dependent on the material used. Advantages of this type of tubing include the elimination of labour intensive assembly steps such as welding and stretching processes.
